Program 3 months

How do you participate in the program “3 months?”

In order to participate in the program, you must fill out an application and send it via email to the address found in the pamphlet.

What is the program “3 months?”

When do the students go to Germany?  

Russian students live in Germany from May to July. The German students arrive in Russia in September and remain until November.

How does the educational process work?

The student studies for 3 months in a German high school, improves their knowledge of German, and participates in the program activities.

Where does the student live during the course of the program?

The student lives with a German host family for three months. The host family provides them support, food and care. In September the German students arrive in Russia. Their host families are the Russian participants in the program.

What are the activities of the program’s organizers?

The organizers of the program choose the students, coordinate everything with the schools, provide full organizational and informational support (tickets, visas, insurance etc.) prepare meetings, and stay in contact with the student’s parents during the course of the entire program.

How much does the program cost and what is included?  
The cost of the program is 1,000 Euro based on the current exchange rate of the central bank on the day of payment. Round-trip airline tickets, medical insurance, payment for 16 classes of German in Germany, and organizational-pedagogical support are all included in thee price.  

Who can participate?
         Students between the ages of 14-18 from St. Petersburg or the Leningradskaya Region who can speak German at a primary level and who are willing to host a German student can participate. Candidates from different regions can participate in the program if they travel to St. Petersburg before the program. For more information, please call +7-12-718-37-91(93).

The organizers of the program are:

  • The NGO “German-Russian Exchange” in cooperation with the German branch of the international organization AFS.
  • AFS – the largest community organization in the world which facilitates international exchange programs for high-school students representing 62 countries in Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa, and Australia and New Zealand. AFS provides year-and semester-long programs for 10,000 students annually.
